It’s my second time experiencing the Mouled in Tunisia, an Islamic holiday which celebrates the birth of the Prophet. Tunisians celebrate this day by making assida. So, I started my day off with a big bowlful.
Assida is a sweet pudding which is made from the Zgougou seed and combined with flour and sugar. A layer of cream is added followed by a dusting of nuts, like pistachio and almond, and decorated with more nuts and candies. It is really delicious!
